The September 21 Match Five Powerball prize worth $1 Million was claimed today at the Lottery office in Bismarck. The winning ticket was sold at the Sunmart, 1100 13th Avenue East, in West Fargo.
The winner, a resident of West Fargo who chose to remain anonymous, had to check the numbers over and over to make sure it was the winning ticket. The lucky winner has no immediate plans for the prize winnings but is keeping charities and retirement in mind.
Powerball is played in 43 states, D.C. and U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and for just $1 more, add Power Play to increase all non-jackpot prizes. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 9:59 p.m. CT. Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $50 Million.
